The Snail and the Deer

Once upon a time, a deer and a snail entered a race. The deer had made fun of the snail for his slow pace. So the snail challenged the deer to a race.
"We will race from here to the next well", said the snail. They both agreed for a race after 3 days.

After 3 days they began the race. The deer swiftly reached the well. He could not see the snail there. So he shouted "O snail where are you?". "Here I am" said the snail, putting its head out of the well.

The deer was still determined to win the race. He said, "Lets race till the next well". The snail agreed.

The deer ran as fast as he could till the next well and again shouted " O snail where are you?". "Here I am" said the snail, putting its head out of the well. The deer was astonished.

The deer tried again and again but always failed. At last he gave up and accepted defeat.

Little did he know that the snail with wich he had started the race had not even moved an inch. The snails in the well were his cousins and looked just like him. Overhearing the crows about the race, the snails in the well were determined to help the snail cousin and teach the deer a lesson. Poor deer still thinks the snail runs faster than him!
